Hillcrest Bank, National Association, was established on October 22, 2010, in Overland Park, Kansas. On the same day, the institution changed its name to Hillcrest Bank, National Association, and moved its main office to 11111 W 95th St, Overland Park, Kansas 66214. On October 22, 2010, Hillcrest Bank was acquired as part of a government-assisted merger. The bank underwent significant changes in the following years, including its merger with Bank Midwest, National Association, on November 7, 2011, in Kansas City, Missouri. Following this merger, the bank was rebranded as NBH Bank, National Association, on May 20, 2012. Ultimately, on January 1, 2016, it officially changed its institution name to NBH Bank.
