History Of High Country Bank
High Country Bank, originally established in 1886 as the Salida Building and Loan Association, is a commercial bank located in Salida, Colorado. Over the years, the institution underwent several name and structural changes. In April 1988, it was renamed The Salida Building and Loan Association. In August 1993, the bank changed its chartering agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision and, in December 1997, transitioned its organization type to a Stock Savings and Loan. In February 2000, the institution adopted the name High Country Bank and relocated its main office to 7360 West Us Highway 50, Salida, Colorado. In April 2009, High Country Bank changed its organization type to a commercial bank and became a state-chartered bank, a member of the Federal Reserve System, with the Federal Reserve designated as its primary federal regulatory agency.
