History Of Hickory Point Bank
Hickory Point Bank, originally established as Hickory Point Bank on June 4, 1979, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. In 1984, the institution changed its name to Eagle Bank of Macon County, before reverting to Hickory Point Bank and Trust on March 17, 1987, when it also granted full trust powers. The bank's main office was relocated to 5525 Hickory Point Drive in Decatur, Illinois, on the same date. A subsequent move took place on January 16, 2004, to 1401 Hickory Point Drive in Forsyth, Illinois. Over the years, the bank transitioned through various federal regulatory agencies, becoming regulated by the Office of Thrift Supervision in 1998 after rebranding itself to Hickory Point Bank and Trust, FSB, and changing its organization type to a stock savings bank. In 2011, it shifted oversight to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency before finally becoming a commercial bank as of December 30, 2015, under the supervision of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
