History Of Heritage Community Bank
Heritage Community Bank was established on June 15, 1999, under the name Hartsville Community Bank, National Association. On January 10, 2001, the bank underwent several changes: it changed its name to Hartsville Community Bank, shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, converted to a state-chartered bank, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. The bank’s main office was relocated to 206 South Fifth Street in Hartsville, South Carolina, on May 7, 2001. On June 27, 2005, the institution changed its name to Heritage Community Bank. Finally, on November 30, 2018, Heritage Community Bank merged with The Citizens Bank, headquartered in Olanta, South Carolina, marking the end of its independent operations.
