History Of Heritage Bank
Heritage Bank, originally established as the Bank of Wood River in 1884, is a financial institution based in Nebraska. Over the years, the bank underwent several significant changes, including a name change to Heritage Bank in April 2000. Among its strategic growth initiatives, Heritage Bank acquired multiple financial entities, such as the First National Bank & Trust Company in Aurora and the Stromsburg Bank on the same date. In October 2002, Heritage Bank expanded its operations further by acquiring the Heritage Bank, National Association located in Doniphan, Nebraska. The bank continued to grow through acquisitions, including Sherman County Bank in Loup City and City National Bank and Trust Company in Hastings in 2009.
