Heartland Bank, originally established as The Croton Bank Company in 1911, has a history marked by significant growth and changes. The bank changed its name to Heartland Bank on May 15, 1989, the same date it also relocated its main office to Main Street in Croton, Ohio. In December of that year, it further expanded by acquiring Lyndon Guaranty Bank of Ohio in Columbus, Ohio. Over the years, Heartland Bank has relocated its main office multiple times, moving to Gahanna, Ohio, on June 16, 2004, and then to Whitehall, Ohio, on February 2, 2018. A notable acquisition occurred on April 8, 2020, when Heartland Bank acquired Victory Community Bank in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. The bank transitioned to a state-chartered institution and became a member of the Federal Reserve System on November 1, 1939, which marked its shift to being regulated by the Federal Reserve.
