History Of Heartland Bank
Heartland Bank, originally established as Geneva State Bank on March 3, 1899, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. The bank moved its main office to Main Street in Geneva, Nebraska, on April 18, 1990, and subsequently relocated to 896 G Street in Geneva on October 5, 2002. During this period, it expanded its operations by acquiring several banks, including Shickley State Bank on June 9, 2001, and Grafton State Bank on the same day. In 2010, Heartland Bank acquired Farmers State Bank in Fairmont, Nebraska. The institution changed its name to Geneva State Bank on February 17, 2011, before rebranding as Heartland Bank on January 5, 2019. This rebranding was part of a significant expansion that included the acquisition of Jefferson County Bank in Daykin, Nebraska, and The First National Bank of Fairbury on the same day. Additionally, the bank acquired State Bank of Riverdale on March 1, 2014, and later rebranded once more to Heartland Bank.
