Haverhill Bank is a cooperative bank established in 1877 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, initially operating under the name Haverhill Co-operative Bank. The institution was not federally insured until later years. Over its history, Haverhill Bank expanded through a series of acquisitions, starting with the purchase of Whittier Co-operative Bank in Haverhill in 1982. The bank underwent a significant name change to Haverhill Bank on February 28, 2005. In December 2008, it acquired Northeast Community Credit Union, also located in Haverhill, and further expanded in January 2012 by acquiring Economy Co-operative Bank in Merrimac, Massachusetts.
