Hardin County Savings Bank is a financial institution established on January 1, 1868, originally named Citizens Savings Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes, including a significant change to Hardin County Savings Bank of Eldora, Iowa, on September 3, 1940. In 1968, the main office of the bank was relocated to 1414 Edgington Avenue in Eldora, Iowa. The institution further altered its name to Hardin County Savings Bank on December 1, 1981. In a strategic expansion move, the bank acquired Union-Whitten State Savings Bank in Union, Iowa, on October 1, 1982. Additionally, in 1931, the bank transitioned its trust powers to full status.
