History Of Harbor Community Bank
Harbor Community Bank, originally established as First Bank of Indiantown on January 23, 1960, underwent numerous changes throughout its history. The bank's name was changed to First Bank and Trust Company of Indiantown on May 15, 2006, and subsequently became First Bank & Trust Co of Indiantown on February 17, 2011, before adopting the name Harbor Community Bank, FSB on August 10, 2011. The bank transitioned to a commercial entity, Harbor Community Bank, on June 14, 2012, and began acquiring other financial institutions as part of its growth strategy. Notable acquisitions included Putnam State Bank in June 2012, Highlands Independent Bank in October 2014, and Florida Citizens Bank in December 2015. The bank's main office relocated multiple times, finally settling at 200 South Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce, Florida, on July 24, 2015. In January 2018, Harbor Community Bank merged with CenterState Bank, National Association, and continued to operate under that name until it changed once more to SouthState Bank, National Association on June 8, 2020.
