History Of Happy State Bank
Happy State Bank was established on January 1, 1908, originally named First State Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes and expansions. In 1989, the main office was relocated to 100 East Main Street in Happy, Texas. The bank adopted its current name, Happy State Bank, on April 19, 2004. In the following years, it acquired several banks, including The First National Bank of Canadian in 2009 and Signature Bank in Dallas in 2013. The bank transitioned into a state-chartered institution and became a member of the Federal Reserve System in October 2014. However, by September 2019, it withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Significant acquisitions continued through 2020 and 2021, including Centennial Bank in Lubbock, Texas, and First Bank of Muleshoe. Very unhappy today, have been trying to resolve a data breach on my account, was told more customers are having same issues. When I researched this problem, they are supposed to notify customers within 36 hours of a problem. My account is for my Social Security and miscellaneous which came in today.
