The bank expanded its operations by acquiring First Global Bank Federal Savings Bank in Los Angeles on October 1, 1998, followed by the acquisition of Pacific Union Bank, also in Los Angeles, on May 1, 2004. More recently, on September 1, 2014, Hanmi Bank acquired United Central Bank in Garland, Texas.
