Hancock Bank & Trust Company was established on July 1, 1888. Over its long history, the institution underwent significant changes, including the acquisition of Breckinridge Bank in Cloverport, Kentucky, on January 1, 2005, and Community First Bank in Madisonville, Kentucky, on March 31, 2008. Following a period of growth and development, Hancock Bank & Trust merged with First Financial Bank, National Association on November 5, 2021, becoming part of a larger banking organization based in Terre Haute, Indiana.
