Hamilton State Bank was established on September 20, 2004, and was originally located in Georgia. Over the years, the bank engaged in multiple acquisitions to expand its operations. Notable transactions include the acquisition of Jefferson State Bank in Cumming, Georgia, on December 31, 2008, and a series of government-assisted mergers that involved Bartow County Bank in Cartersville, Georgia, on April 15, 2011; McIntosh State Bank in Jackson, Georgia, on June 17, 2011; and The First State Bank in Stockbridge, Georgia, on January 20, 2012.
