History Of Gunnison Valley Bank
Gunnison Valley Bank was established on January 1, 1909, originally serving the community of Gunnison, Utah. Over the decades, the bank experienced several significant changes in its structure and regulatory oversight. On April 4, 1969, it transitioned to a state-chartered bank, withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System and subsequently changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The bank moved its main office to 10 South Main Street in Gunnison, Utah, on April 20, 1990. After operating for more than a century, Gunnison Valley Bank merged with the State Bank of Southern Utah on February 8, 2019, marking the end of its independent operations.
