History Of Guaranty Bank & Trust
Guaranty Bank & Trust, originally established as Guaranty Bond State Bank on January 17, 1913, has undergone several name and structural changes throughout its history. The institution began as a state-chartered bank and, in 1969, withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its regulatory oversight to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In the years following, the bank expanded its operations and shifted its name to Guaranty Bank in August 1981. Over the decades, Guaranty Bank & Trust made several strategic acquisitions, including The First National Bank of Deport in 1992, The Talco State Bank in 1997, and First American Bank in Sulphur Springs, Texas, in 1999. In July 2012, the institution rebranded again to Guaranty Bond Bank, National Association, changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. Subsequent name changes included Guaranty Bank & Trust in July 2014. The bank continued its growth by acquiring Preston State Bank in Dallas, Texas, in March 2015, and Texas Leadership Bank in Royse City, Texas, in August 2015.
