Great State Bank

Great State Bank was established on July 2, 2008, and originally based in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. In its early years, the institution focused on providing banking services to the local community. On September 1, 2011, Great State Bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System and transitioning to a state-chartered bank. On February 2, 2009, the main office was relocated to 1422 Highway 421, Wilkesboro, North Carolina. However, the bank's independent operations came to an end on July 1, 2018, when it merged with Skyline National Bank, headquartered in Independence, Virginia.
