Granite Savings Bank was established on March 21, 1884, originally operating without Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance. Ultimately, Granite Savings Bank merged with Cape Ann Savings Bank in Gloucester, Massachusetts, on January 17, 2015, concluding its history as an independent financial institution.
