History Of GrandSouth Bank

GrandSouth Bank was established on September 8, 1998, in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. Initially operating under its original name, the bank moved its main office to 325 South Main Street in Fountain Inn on December 13, 1998. On January 21, 2000, GrandSouth Bank changed its classification to a State Chartered Bank, indicating that it was not a member of the Federal Reserve System. In a further development, the bank relocated its main office to 381 Halton Road in Greenville, South Carolina, on October 18, 2003. After nearly 14 years of operation, GrandSouth Bank changed its name to reflect its branding strategy on February 21, 2017. Ultimately, on January 1, 2023, GrandSouth Bank merged with First Bank, based in Southern Pines, North Carolina, marking the end of its independent operations.
