Grand Mountain Bank was established on November 26, 2003, originally operating as a federal savings bank. The institution underwent a significant change on July 21, 2011, when it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On August 27, 2007, the bank moved its main office to 337 East Agate Avenue in Granby, Colorado, where it continued to provide banking services to its customers. However, the bank's independent operations came to an end on February 4, 2020, when it merged with United Business Bank, with the latter headquartered in Walnut Creek, California.
