Goppert State Service Bank, originally established as Garnett State Savings Bank on July 11, 1899, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. On March 21, 1978, the institution changed its name to Garnett State Savings Bank while also obtaining full trust powers. It later modified its trust powers to none on June 30, 1992. The bank underwent a significant transformation on December 15, 2012, when it acquired Farmers National Bank of Kansas in Walnut, Kansas, and subsequently adopted the name Goppert State Service Bank. Prior to this, on July 16, 2009, it acquired The Citizens State Bank of Pomona in Pomona, Kansas. Additionally, the main office of Goppert State Service Bank was relocated to 106 East 5th Street, Garnett, Kansas, on October 9, 2012.
