Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust

Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust was established on May 9, 1984, originally named Gibraltar Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes in structure and regulation. On July 22, 1994, it changed its name to Gibraltar Bank, FSB, and transitioned to a stock savings bank under the regulation of the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). The bank's main office was relocated multiple times, with a notable move to Miami, Florida, in 1985, and later to Hialeah, Florida, in 1993. By March 9, 1998, Gibraltar received full trust powers, and subsequently moved its main office to Coral Gables, Florida, in 1998. The institution was renamed Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust Company on November 15, 2005. On July 21, 2011, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Over the following years, Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust continued to evolve until it merged with IberiaBank on March 24, 2018, and then became part of First Horizon Bank in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 2, 2020.
