Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida

Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida was established on May 19, 2008. The institution initially served the financial needs of the Southwest Florida region. On October 26, 2009, the main office was relocated to 1100 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida 34236. In the years that followed, Gateway Bank underwent several name changes and corporate mergers. On May 1, 2017, it merged with CenterState Bank of Florida, National Association, subsequently adopting the name CenterState Bank, National Association on June 1, 2017. The institution continued to evolve and was rebranded as South State Bank, National Association on June 8, 2020. Finally, on November 5, 2021, it officially changed its name again to SouthState Bank, National Association.
