History Of Franklin Templeton Bank and Trust

Franklin Templeton Bank and Trust was established on August 8, 1975, originally named Pacific Union Bank & Trust Company. The institution underwent several significant changes over the years, including a name change to Franklin Bank on November 4, 1987, and a relocation of its main office to 777 Mariners Island Boulevard in San Mateo, California, on August 1, 1989. On May 1, 2000, the bank transitioned to a stock savings bank and changed its name to Franklin Templeton Bank and Trust, F.S.B., while also relocating its main office to 2302 South Presidents Drive in Salt Lake City, Utah. That same day, it acquired Franklin Templeton Trust Company and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). The bank's designation was further updated on July 21, 2011, when its primary federal regulatory agency changed to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On November 19, 2007, the main office was moved again within Salt Lake City. Eventually, Franklin Templeton Bank and Trust voluntarily closed and liquidated its assets on October 1, 2015.
