History Of Frandsen Bank & Trust
Frandsen Bank & Trust is a financial institution established on August 1, 1901, originally named State Bank of New Ulm. Over the years, the bank has undergone several name changes, becoming State Bank & Trust Company of New Ulm on February 5, 1970, and later Valley Bank & Trust on August 1, 2001. The bank rebranded to its current name, Frandsen Bank & Trust, on November 1, 2004, coinciding with the relocation of its main office to Lonsdale, Minnesota. The bank has been active in expansion through acquisitions, notably acquiring Rural American Bank-Montgomery/Lonsdale in November 2004, followed by several other banks including Valley Bank in Waterville, Minnesota in May 2010 and Northern National Bank in Nisswa, Minnesota in October 2009. In recent years, Frandsen Bank & Trust has continued its growth strategy by acquiring Bank of Zumbrota in Zumbrota, Minnesota and Pine Island Bank in Pine Island, Minnesota in October and September of 2022, respectively. The institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its regulatory status to a state-chartered bank on April 1, 2015.
