History Of Foundation Bank

Foundation Bank was established in 1888 as the Foundation Savings and Loan Company. Over its long history, the bank underwent several significant name changes and organizational transformations. In 1990, it became known as Foundation Savings Bank and, after further modifications, adopted the name Foundation Bank in 2002. During the early 2000s, the bank expanded its operations through strategic acquisitions, including The Findlay Savings Bank in 2002 and The Lenox Savings Bank in 2003. In 2010, Foundation Bank acquired Bramble Savings Bank in Milford, Ohio, as part of a government-assisted merger. The bank transitioned its regulatory oversight multiple times, culminating in a change to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 2011. On May 1, 2018, Foundation Bank merged with First Commonwealth Bank, headquartered in Indiana, Pennsylvania, marking the end of its independent operations.
