History Of FNB Of Central Alabama

FNB of Central Alabama, originally established as the First National Bank of Aliceville on August 2, 1965, underwent several name and regulatory changes throughout its history. On April 1, 1988, the bank acquired the Bank of Gordo in Gordo, Alabama, and subsequently changed its name to First National Bank of Pickens County on the same day. It later adopted the name First National Bank of Central Alabama on March 5, 1996. On June 30, 2014, the institution changed its name again to FNB of Central Alabama and switched its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), also opting to become a state-chartered bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System. On April 1, 2019, FNB of Central Alabama merged with BankFirst Financial Services, which is headquartered in Columbus, Mississippi.
