FNB Bank, originally established as The First National Bank in Goodland in 1886, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. On March 4, 1991, the institution changed its name to First National Bank and relocated its main office to 202 East Eleventh Street in Goodland, Kansas. On the same date, it expanded its capabilities by acquiring full trust powers and began a series of acquisitions that included The Peoples State Bank in Sharon Springs, Kansas (March 4, 1991), The Cheyenne County State Bank in St. Francis, Kansas (April 11, 1994), and The First National Bank of Quinter in Quinter, Kansas (December 10, 1998). Additional significant acquisitions occurred with The Kirk State Bank in Kirk, Colorado (April 1, 2000) and The Security State Bank in Bird City, Kansas (March 21, 2002). In a major shift on December 17, 2018, the institution changed its name to FNB Bank and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
