History Of F&M Bank and Trust Company
F&M Bank and Trust Company, originally established as Marion County Mutual Loan and Building Association in 1886, has undergone several transformations throughout its history. In December 1991, the institution rebranded as MCM Savings Bank, F.S.B. and changed its organizational structure to a mutual savings bank under the Office of Thrift Supervision. By the end of 1992, it transitioned to a stock savings bank. In September 2006, F&M Bank and Trust Company acquired Farmers & Merchants Bank and Trust Company and subsequently changed its name to reflect this acquisition. The main office relocated to 505 Broadway, Hannibal, Missouri, on March 16, 2007. The institution's regulatory framework shifted over the years: it was regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency until July 2011, after which it transitioned to being regulated by the Federal Reserve System.
