Florida Parishes Bank

Florida Parishes Bank, originally established as the Florida Parishes Homestead Association on June 16, 1922, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. The bank transitioned from a mutual savings bank to a federal savings bank on February 23, 1999, and subsequently changed its organization type to a stock savings bank on the same day. That year, it also shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision. Following the move of its main office to 300 West Morris Street in Hammond, Louisiana, on October 31, 1987, the bank relocated again to 1300 West Morris Avenue, Hammond, Louisiana, on July 12, 2004. On July 21, 2011, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In March 2019, Florida Parishes Bank merged with The First, A National Banking Association, based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. On January 15, 2022, the institution officially changed its name to The First Bank.
