FirstBank is a financial institution that was originally established as Farmers State Bank in 1906. Over the years, it has undergone several name changes and acquisitions to expand its presence in the banking industry. In 1988, the institution changed its name to First Bank, and in 2015, it adopted the name FirstBank. The bank has actively pursued growth through acquisitions, including the purchase of First State Bank in Linden, Tennessee, in 1999; Bank of Huntingdon in Huntingdon, Tennessee, in 2001; and Bank of Murfreesboro in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 2003. The expansion continued with the acquisition of The Bank of West Tennessee in Lexington, Tennessee, in 1996, and later the Northwest Georgia Bank in Ringgold, Georgia, in 2015. Notable acquisitions also include American City Bank in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and Clayton Bank and Trust in Knoxville, Tennessee, both completed in 2017.
