In a significant development in the bank's history, it acquired Old Farmers & Merchants State Bank located in Hillsdale, Illinois, on July 31, 2006. Subsequently, First Trust & Savings Bank became part of Morton Community Bank in Morton, Illinois, through a merger that took place on December 6, 2019.
