History Of First Texas Bank
First Texas Bank, originally established on October 2, 1884, as The First National Bank of Lampasas, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. On October 11, 1990, the bank expanded by acquiring United Peoples Bank located in Lampasas, Texas. By December 31, 1992, several transformations occurred, including the change of the institution's name to First Texas Bank, the alteration of its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and the change of its chartering agency to a state agency. On the same date, the bank also withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and ceased having trust powers. These changes marked a new chapter in the evolution of the institution, which continues to operate as First Texas Bank.
