History Of First Texas Bank
First Texas Bank was established on November 16, 1977, originally under the name First National Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several significant changes. On December 31, 1992, it changed its name to First Texas Bank and also transitioned its regulatory oversight from the Federal Reserve System to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation while changing its chartering agency to state level. In conjunction with this, the main office relocated to Church and Gray Streets in Killeen, Texas. The bank continued to expand by acquiring First Texas Bank in Killeen on July 7, 1995. Shortly thereafter, it moved its main office to a new location. On August 8, 2009, First Texas Bank further extended its reach by acquiring another branch in Belton, Texas. Most recently, on November 24, 2014, the main office was moved again to a new site at 3514 South W.S. Young Drive in Killeen, Texas.
