History Of First State Bank
First State Bank was established on October 15, 1935, under its original name. The bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System on January 29, 1945, and subsequently changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. It later transitioned to being a state-chartered bank but left the Federal Reserve System on March 28, 1973, when it changed its name to First State Bank and updated its regulatory status. The main office was relocated to 505 - 2nd Street in Webster City, Iowa, on June 25, 1979. In the following years, the bank expanded through acquisitions, including Farmers State Bank in Stanhope, Iowa, on February 2, 1987, and Farmers Savings Bank in Vincent, Iowa, on April 1, 1997.
