First State Bank was established on January 1, 1917, as a financial institution in Spearman, Texas. Throughout its history, the bank has undergone several significant changes and relocations. On December 21, 1959, it transitioned from a member of the Federal Reserve System to a state-chartered bank and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The bank's main office moved from 30 Southwest Court Street to 1 Northeast Court Street on September 10, 1984.
