First State Bank Southwest is a financial institution that was established on January 1, 1903, originally named First State Bank of Rushmore. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes and relocations. On April 19, 1990, the main office was moved to 103 North Thompson Avenue in Rushmore, Minnesota. Subsequently, on October 1, 1999, the bank changed its name to First State Bank of Pipestone, Rushmore and Worthington. Later that year, on October 11, the main office was relocated to 202 Second Street Southeast in Pipestone, Minnesota. Finally, on May 1, 2001, the institution adopted its current name, First State Bank Southwest.
