History Of First State Bank

First State Bank was established on September 12, 1935, and initially operated under that name. Over the decades, the bank expanded its footprint through a series of acquisitions. On October 23, 1986, it acquired the Bank of Gering in Gering, Nebraska. Further growth continued with the relocation of its main office to 2002 Broadway in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on June 29, 1981. In April 2004, First State Bank acquired another institution, First State Bank of Colorado Springs located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The bank continued to pursue strategic growth and, on June 10, 2019, acquired Security First Bank in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Ultimately, First State Bank merged with Riverstone Bank in Eagle, Nebraska, on November 5, 2021, becoming part of a larger banking entity.
