History Of First State Bank of Cando
The First State Bank of Cando is a financial institution located in Cando, North Dakota. Established on January 1, 1888, the bank initially operated under the name The First State Bank of Cando. In 1977, the bank's name was changed to The First State Bank of Cando, and its main office was relocated to 415 Main Street in Cando. In 1985, the institution underwent significant changes when it became known as First Bank Cando, National Association, and transitioned to being chartered by The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency while also becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System. However, on July 1, 1987, the bank changed its name to First State Bank of Cando, shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), switched its chartering agency back to the state, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System.
