First State Bank is a financial institution that was established on January 1, 1917, under the name First State Bank of East Detroit. Over the decades, the bank underwent several significant changes in its structure and identity. In 1975, it rebranded itself as First State Bank of East Detroit. The bank later moved its main office on July 1, 1992, to 22556 Gratiot Avenue in Eastpointe, Michigan. On August 17, 1998, it relocated its main office again to 16100 9 Mile Road in Eastpointe, Michigan. On December 1, 1989, First State Bank acquired Macomb County Bank located in Richmond, Michigan. In 2012, the institution adopted its current name, First State Bank. A key regulatory change occurred on May 20, 2019, when it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. That same day, it also transitioned to a state-chartered bank.
