History Of First State Bank
First State Bank, originally established as Island Deposit Bank on January 4, 1904, has undergone several name changes and relocations throughout its history. In 1965, the institution was renamed First Security Bank of McLean County, and it later became First Security Bank & Trust, McLean, on July 6, 1987. Following this, the bank converted its trust powers to full status and changed its name again to First Security Bank of Kentucky on April 4, 2007. On January 4, 2016, the banking institution was rebranded as First State Bank, Inc., and its main office was moved to 110 North First Street in Central City, Kentucky, where it was located until its final merger. On September 27, 2019, First State Bank merged with Farmers Bank and Trust Company, based in Marion, Kentucky.
