History Of First State Bank
First State Bank was established on January 1, 1933. Initially located in Ida Grove, Iowa, the bank underwent several changes in location and ownership throughout its history. On June 19, 1978, the main office was moved to 200-204 Moorehead Avenue in Ida Grove. This location continued to serve as the main office until July 8, 2008, when it was relocated to 200 Moorehead Avenue in the same city. In an effort to expand its services, First State Bank acquired Odebolt State Bank in Odebolt, Iowa, on February 7, 2008. The bank ultimately merged with The Shelby County State Bank in Harlan, Iowa, on February 1, 2022, marking the end of its independent operations.
