History Of First State Bank
First State Bank, originally established as First State Bank in Picher, Oklahoma, on June 1, 1918, served its community for several decades. The bank underwent a significant name change on March 3, 1998, officially adopting the name First State Bank. That same day, it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. Prior to these changes, the bank's main office was relocated on October 15, 1979, to 301 South Connell Avenue in Picher. In 2009, the main office was again moved to 101 North Mickey Mantle Boulevard in Commerce, Oklahoma. On January 23, 2018, First State Bank merged with Security Bank and Trust Company, based in Miami, Oklahoma, marking the end of its independent operations.
