First Star Bank

First Star Bank was established in 1905 under the original name First State Bank. Over its history, the institution underwent several name changes and structural modifications. In 1989, First Star Bank expanded by acquiring Citizens Bank and Trust located in Calvert, Texas, and subsequently relocated its main office to Main Street in Bremond, Texas. In 2004, the bank transitioned to a stock savings bank organization type and changed its name first to First State Bank-Bremond and then to First Star Bank in 2007. On January 1, 2015, First Star Bank merged with SouthStar Bank, S.S.B., based in Moulton, Texas, and subsequently changed its name to SouthStar Bank, S.S.B.
