Branch Reviews & Complaints
First Southern Bank, Eldorado Branch, has closed my account 6 days before my SSA payment was ro be deposited, as always. Upon that direct deposit arrival, my neg. balance of $154.88, would have been payed, including any fees, late charges etc... in full from my account. Isn't it policy, to first, remove my ability to access the $500.00 overdraft limit before completely removing my checking account. I did not recieve my monthly SSA payment that was sent to First Southern Bank of Eldorado. Ive now incurred 2 lste payment fees for power and water bills that are payed on the first day of the month. The water service to my property has been shut off due to non payment that was ro be paid, as always, on the 1st day of every month. I have created late fees in the past. When this occurred, any non payment issues were resolved by taking the incurred fees directly from my account. I now have no money, my checking account has been "Charged Off", meaning SSA has sent payment to thebabk to my account, but was not deposited because there wasn't, and still isnt an existing account. The First Southern Bank of Eldorado has not returned or notified the Social Security office of the denial of deposit. By closing my personal checking account over a $154.88 neg balance that they knew would be payed in less than a week has turned my financial responsibilities and needs upside down. Disappointed, angry, and discussed. Ive never been treated this horribly from any bank or business before. I am ashamed to be associated with F.So. Bank of Eldorado. I am still pennyless 3 days later. Where us ny money? Who is the individual that executed this decision to close my account without following less devastating penalties, as was discussed prior in this comment. And lastly, what is my compensation for this decision to close, or, Charge off my account? How about paying my water reconnection fee of $150.00 that would not exsist if my deposit was made on the 1st day of every month. Pathetic and poor execution ofthis Bank's employees decision on this matter has caused me to report this behavior to any person considering choosing F.SO. B. for they're financial management needs. I own approximately $946.00, that the bank hasblocked payment to my account. I believe that is called theft. And no institution is going to withhold, intercept, or remove my personal anything, without serious retaliation. This could happen to you, Mr. or Mrs. account holder.
