History Of First South Bank
First South Bank was established on April 18, 1903, under the name The Hamilton Bank of Hardeman County. The institution underwent several name changes, becoming Hardeman County Savings Bank on October 22, 1975, and subsequently Hardeman County Bank on October 29, 1980. The bank's main office was relocated to 809 West Market Street in Bolivar, Tennessee, during this period. On February 28, 1994, it adopted the name First South Bank. Another significant relocation occurred on December 31, 2006, when the main office moved to 1862 Highway 45 Bypass in Jackson, Tennessee. Ultimately, First South Bank merged with Simmons Bank on September 5, 2017, becoming part of the financial institution based in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
