History Of First Security Bank
First Security Bank was established on March 29, 1973, originally under the name First Security Bank of Missoula. Over the years, the institution underwent several mergers and acquisitions that helped it expand its operations. Notably, on November 1, 2005, First Security Bank acquired First State Bank in Thompson Falls, Montana, followed by the acquisition of Citizens' State Bank in Hamilton, Montana, on January 27, 2007. On April 19, 2011, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and reclassified itself as a state-chartered bank, exiting membership in the Federal Reserve System. The significant transformation of First Security Bank occurred on April 30, 2012, when it merged with Glacier Bank in Kalispell, Montana. Subsequently, on January 1, 2018, the institution changed its name to Glacier Bank.
