History Of First Security Bank
First Security Bank, established on October 19, 1919, originally operated under the name Security Bank & Trust Company of Bozeman. The institution underwent a name change in 1974 to become First Security Bank of Bozeman and later simplified its name to First Security Bank in 1998. Over the years, the bank expanded through various acquisitions, including the purchase of First Security Bank of Belgrade and Security Bank of Three Forks in 1998, 1st Security Bank of West Yellowstone in 2001, and First State Bank of Fort Benton in 2002. On October 29, 2016, First Security Bank acquired Teton Banks in Fairfield, Montana. Ultimately, on February 28, 2018, First Security Bank merged with Glacier Bank, headquartered in Kalispell, Montana, marking the end of its independent operations.
