History Of First Savings Bank
First Savings Bank, originally established as the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Clark County on January 7, 1938, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. In 1995, the institution rebranded as First Savings Bank, F.S.B., and transitioned from a mutual savings bank to a stock savings bank. It relocated its main office multiple times; first to 202 East Court Avenue in Jeffersonville, Indiana, in 1986, and then to 501 East Highway 131 and later 501 East Lewis and Clark Parkway in Clarksville, Indiana, in March 1995 and October 2003, respectively. Over the years, the bank changed its organization type, regulatory agency, and membership status, notably becoming a state-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System on December 19, 2014. Since then, it has continued to expand, acquiring Community First Bank in Corydon, Indiana, on October 1, 2009, and The First National Bank of Odon in Odon, Indiana, on February 10, 2018. The bank's regulatory oversight transitioned from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to the Federal Reserve in December 2014.
