First Option Bank is a financial institution that was established on September 6, 1923, under the name The First National Bank of Osawatomie in Osawatomie, Kansas. Over the years, the bank underwent several name and structural changes. On September 15, 1982, it rebranded as First National Bank and Trust, Osawatomie, Kansas. A significant transformation occurred on January 1, 1999, when the bank changed its name to First Option Bank and adjusted its classification to a state-chartered bank, becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System. That same day, it also changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and altered its chartering agency to the state level. On June 9, 1975, the bank had moved its main office to 601 Main Street, Osawatomie, Kansas, and gained full trust powers.
